Holding the Heart @ The Smoky Mountain Yoga + Wellness Festival
Grief is one of the most universal human experiences, yet so often, we are left to carry it alone and in silence. Holding the Heart is a class designed to change that. Led by astrologer, community herbalist, and holistic pet grief guide Courtney Trethric, this gathering weaves together plant wisdom and heartfelt conversation to help us better understand, tend to, and honor grief in all its forms.
She’ll explore herbs traditionally used to support the grieving heart, take a closer look at disenfranchised grief ( the losses that often go unrecognized or unseen), and share practical ways to show up for the grieving people in our own communities.
Whether you are in the thick of loss yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply want to build your capacity for compassionate care before a crisis, this class offers something for everyone.
What guests can expect:
A digital workbook on a recap of the class, with detailed listings of herbs, words of affirmation, and body-based ways to work with grief. Plus, one of my most popular posts online, “Things to say other than I’m sorry during grief + loss,” with detailed accounts from actual community members.
How a “death doula” is different from a doctor, therapist, or counselor.
Organic herbal blends available for purchase (only for attendees!) Featuring my best-selling tea, Steady + Strong.
Learn how a body-based approach helps integrate grief, instead of compartmentalizing it.
How working with grief helps your family, community, and those around you walk a more intuitive life.
Live Q+A with an astrologer + herbalist!
